Text Box: Big thanks to all of you who became Crescent Sisters this year. There are 152 of you. Our $5 annual dues really aren’t enough, so the additional funds provided by all of you are a huge help.

Remember the meetings scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th, and Tuesday, April 11th. Both will be great fun. Sue Mohler Durrett has lots of wonderful stories which relate to the treasures in her attic, and Gloria and Dick Anderson have a glorious and diverse art collection which we have the opportunity to experience. Check out the details for both these events on the KC Gamma Phi Beta website. Do bring your spouse, significant other or other friend to join us at the Anderson’s in April. If there is space think about inviting a friend/neighbor to make the trip to Sue’s attic in March.

I’m hopeful that it will answer any questions you may have about what’s happening with the alumnae chapter. Founders Day was very inspiring in 2005. It was wonderful to have Linda Lyons Malony as our speaker. Awards announced that day were Sharon Livengood Ihde (Woman of the Year), Sue Mohler Durrett and Bev Bailey Lang (II K E), and Gardiner (Twig) Rapelye, Jr., Bill Reed and Larry Wheeler (Loyal Friend.) Also honored were our 50-year members, 14 women who were initiated in 1955.

I want to thank Jill Rauch Rump for her generous offer to the alumnae chapter of her 50% profit on Mary Kay Cosmetics purchased from her website by Gamma Phi Betas. She made this offer shortly after the Fall newsletter arrived Text Box: in her mailbox announcing my plea for new fund raising ideas for the alumnae group. Jill sent a total of $136, and the project ended December 31, 2005. Speaking of raising funds, there is wonderful news to report about the results from the letter sent in August by the Antiques, Garden & Home Design Show Board. To date 138 of you have donated $18,350. You have designated $11,805 to KCPT Public Television 19 and $6,545 to the Show. All of you are wonderful; your generosity is outstanding! I am so proud to be a Gamma Phi Beta sister. At the September 13th Open House at the home of Mary Livermore Bush, the attendees voted for the continuance of the Show as the primary alumnae fund-raising event and also to continue our co-sponsorship with KCPT. Plans are underway for the 2006 Antiques, Garden & Home Design Show which will be held October 12-14, 2006 at the Overland Park Trade Center in their new 52,000 sq. ft. exhibition space. Gamma Phi Beta will finally get to celebrate year 45. Pat yourselves on the back for that accomplishment!
