"Christmas Is My Time Of Year"/"Will You Still Believe Me"
by The Christmas Spirit
1968 Single...White Whale 290
The Christmas Spirit, by the way, were a one-off group consisting
of Howard Kaylan and
Mark Volman (later Flo & Eddie) of the Turtles; former/current/future
Byrds, Gram Parsons,
Clarence White and Gene Parsons; a young, as-yet unheralded Linda Ronstadt;
and (from the
sound of it) anyone else who happened to be hanging around the studio.
Kaylan cowrote the
song, and the group released it on the Turtles' label, White Whale,
in 1968. The record flopped
miserably, though it was preserved for posterity on Rhino's 1984 LP,
Rockin'
Christmas: The 60's.

Only available at NAPA Auto Parts Stores. They sponsored the TV Special
based on this
1974 concert. This LP only contained studio versions of Linda's songs,
but a VHS
tape of
many of the show's live songs was released as "A Flower Out of Place".
A few years ago a
CD
and DVD of this concert was released.
