Glenn Oakes

A memorial service for our dear friend and brother will be held at GraceLife Church, 1203 Glen Flora Ave, Wkgn, on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that gifts be made to the GraceLife Building Fund (checks need to be payable to "Grace Church" or "New Life Church"). A light lunch will follow. Burial will be private at a later date.

Obituary (News-Sun, February 23, 2002)

Glenn A. Oakes, 58 years old, of Wadsworth, Illinois died at home February 21, 2002 of natural causes. He was born in Montreal Quebec, Canada but has resided in the Waukegan area about 35 years. He was a member of Grace Life Church. He retired from Liquid Controls in North Chicago after several years of service.
    Glenn had great faith, loved his Lord, and was active in his church. He had many friends who will miss him deeply. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and will miss his bike riding friends.
    He is survived by his mother Edith Wilson of Waukegan; a fraternal twin brother Gordon (Sandra) Oakes of Waukegan; a special niece Beth Oakes of Lake Bluff; a special nephew Greg (Kimberly) and great niece Madison Oakes of Antioch; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada.
    Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Life Church, 1203 Glen Flora Avenue, Waukegan with Pastor Robert Rhyne officiating. Burial at North Shore Garden of Memories. There will be no visitation and burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the building fund at Grace Life Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to MARSH FUNERAL HOME.
