The question remains, 'Do we believe in the continuance of these powers?' The writer here will speak only for his own person, but he will say that he believes in a continuance of these gifts where conditions are as they were in the age in which they were exercised according to the testimony of the Scriptures. I believe that where it is necessary to vindicate his truth, God will grant today the same power of prophesying future events, of casting out demons, of healing sickness by a command, of immunity to poison, of raising the dead, which he gave his first disciples."
