Small Group Ministry

WHAT IS A SMALL GROUP?

A Small Group is people who get together intentionally to:

~   grow in relationship with God
      (discipleship)

~   lend support and encouragement
      to one another (fellowship)

~   praise God for his love and
      mercy (worship)

~   draw people into a loving and
      accepting Christian community
      (evangelism)

~   share the love of Jesus Christ
      through service to others
      (ministry)

EXISTING GROUPS

There are more than 20 small groups that meet on a regular basis.  Some of the most popular studies are No Experience Necessary, What’s So Amazing About Grace, and the NOOMA DVD SeriesYou might want to give one of these a try.

No Experience Necessary by Kelly A. Fryer is a combination of narrative and short stories with related scripture readings and discussion questions.  It is well suited for all levels.  This study teaches us that Jesus is at the center of God’s mission to save and bless the world.  We are called to be partners in that mission.  That is the purpose of the Christian life…and our life, together, as the church.

What’s So Amazing About Grace by Phillip Yancey.  When it comes to difficult issues, Yancey isn't afraid to ask hard questions and he doesn’t give easy answers. This study offers the opportunity to join him on a soul-searching pilgrimage into the meaning of grace. Combining poignant stories, personal examples, and biblical insight, he'll challenge your mind and heart with a liberating look at the driving force of our faith.  Videos and study Guides are available for both leaders and participants are available from Zondervan.

NOOMA DVD Series:  These short films are appropriate for personal and small group settings, congregational meetings, and much more. Like parables, they use the experiences of our lives to teach about the fullness of life through Jesus, tackling issues like forgiveness, discipleship, and unconditional love. The study materials accompanying each NOOMA® encourage meaningful discussion with relevant questions and biblical references.
