I decided to put together a page of useful 4x4 links and
information to help the fellow off-roader.
Hi-Lift Jacks & Accessories

If you go off-road without one of these, you are taking unnecessary
chances. This jack will get you out of a lot of sticky situations. This is
a must have for every off-road vehicle.

A must have. Most people don't realize it, but the top clamp on the
Hi-Lift jack is only rated at 5000lb, while the jack is rated at 7000lb.
This attachment is rated at over 8000lb, and can be used as a foot, clamp,
or winch. I have had to use mine a few times. It really comes in handy.

I Highly recommend buying one of these for your Hi-Lift jack if it
will not be kept inside the vehicle. It is water tight and will ensure
your jack works when you need it to. I have has my jack in one of these
for over a year now and it looks just as it did when I put it in there.

This just makes too much sense, especially if you have plastic bumpers
(like on the Grand Cherokee). I have one in my bag of tricks. It does
work, haven't used it on the trail as of yet.

Another handy accessory. Includes winching attachments, tree saver
strap, gloves. I use the winch attachment to hook my front skid plate to
lift my front end.

Recovery Gear & Techniques

These are a must have for recovery operations. Allows straps to be
attached to frame rails where you don't have hooks, or to link 2 straps
for added length (Don't use them for snatching operations though).
Used for winching with the hi-lift, among other things.
A very good site on winching techniques to keep you safe.
A good article on how to properly use a snatch strap.

Vehicle Modifications
These work, I made a set for my 1995 ZJ for less than $10.
A great alternative to tow hooks on a ZJ... Much stronger.
