Recent Activities
The Gold Rush Champions group is very active, both in fundraising, education, and just plain having fun! Here are some photo galleries and information about our most recent (and not so recent) activities. Click on the photos to view them in a larger size.

 
Every so often one of our members volunteers their pool for a party for the pups. Here is a photo of a recent party at Mary Nobbe's home.

Every year the GRC has a Christmas Party. The Elk Grove Fire Station generously lends their place for the event. Here are pups on a fire truck during the 2004 party. Recently a demo was held at the Sheraton in downtown Sacramento during their Dog Day Afternoon event where the hotel celebrated their new policy of welcoming pets at their hotel. Every advanced puppy class has a field trip at UCD Medical Center prior to turn-in. The patients, staff, and puppy raisers all have a wonderful time.

KVIE Phone Bank - 11 GRC volunteers and pups staffed the phones during one of our local public television station's fundraising telecasts. Over $11,000 was raised for public television and we like to think that the pups had something to do with it!

Nevada City Tour - During a recent puppy outing, the kind folks in Nevada City gave a group of GRCer's a tour of the city to include City Hall. The pups decided to have a meeting.Pups at conference table

Puppy Outing to the Elk Grove Fire Station. The kind firemen allowed us to have puppy class there and provided all kinds of distractions for the pups.

Puppy Outing and really fun day at the Kittredge's home. Graduate Dogs, Puppies in Training, Change of Career dogs, and Retired Service Dogs, all had a grand old time swimming in the pond.

Various Information Booths and Demo Tables. GRC members volunteer their time to educate the public about CCI at various information booths at places like the State and County Fairs, North Highlands Y2K9Doglympics, the SPCA Doggy Dash, etc.
