Graduate Teams

Whether it's turning on a light switch for a wheel chair user or alerting a person who is deaf to a fire alarm, a Canine Companion helps make independent living a reality for a person with a disability. Canine Companions graduate with their partners in 4 different categories:
Service Dogs perform helpful tasks for people who use wheel chairs or have other serious mobility limitations in their arms and/or legs.
Hearing Dogs alert people who are deaf or hard of hearing to important sounds such as a fire alarm or doorbell.
Skilled Companion Dogs are provided for children with disabilities, or for any placement where the supervision of a third party is required.
Facility Dogs work with adults who work as rehabilitation professionals, caregivers or educators to improve the mental, physical or emotional health of those in their care.
The Gold Rush Champions have many Graduate Teams in our midst! Take a look! Click on the photo to view in a larger size. Click Go button to read more about them.
