• • ECOLOGICAL WISDOM - The first of our Ten Key Values requires that we plan with nature not against her. The best way to improve the ecological health of this area is to first clean the air. We are the second most polluted district in the U.S. and 40% of that is from Dairy Cows. Manure into electricity and methanol is the way to go. Getting Government and enrgy lobiiests out of the way and allowing our small family farms to supply their own energy. If they individually choose they may cluster together in small co-ops as they get on a debit/credit relation with the electricity grid. Either way can save small farmers a fortune if we invest now. Free market means that the Ebergy Corproations can not have the ir stooges in the Assembly limit these debit/credit meters to 4% but allow the price to fall for energy and the demand for converters to create more energy providers and not be monopolized out. Methanol produced from manure can run the farm vehicles and even allow larger farms to provide service stations for methanol vehicles.

• • GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY - The second of our Ten Key Values calls for us to set up centers through out rural California District where citizens can have direct input in to governments role and to keep them form pushing monoplistic greed and ruining free enterprise. Lrt's set up many isolated places with energy independence field offices and conventions. With Town Hall meetings and area meetings regular and frequent there will be increased opportunity for all to attend and shape government policy. Free internet access for rural towns is easy to arrange. Video Conventions of Conferences with sevral gahterings hooked in to one video convention is then possible.

• • SOCIAL JUSTICE - Our area is one of the highest unemployed areas in the nation and much of the work is seasonal. Exploitation of workers, the elderly and the disabled runs rampant in this area. Child Abuse is at levels unheard of most anywhere in the state. Social Services are denied as a rule and homelessness of long time residents is on the rise. Our local law enforcement and district attorneys need to be refocused to victims and prevention. Victimless crimes need to be let go. We must show that civic participation, volunteerism and good government is possible once again. Workers rights and small business rights cry for our action. It has fallen out of the Republican Party parlance and now falls to the Green Party to put Main Street over Wall Street. Corporate personhood must not be allowed to hide criminal behavior and preying on the poor and defenseless be they consumer, patient or client.
• • NON-VIOLENCE - The fourth of the Green Party's Ten Key Values rounds off the FOUR PILLARS of action for the Green Party. In all affairs from contributing to the war machine, to allowing violence in the schools, the streets, the homes. The creation of conflict resolution programs for communities in crisis needs to be at the top of our priorities as we watch the influences of the urban migration back into our area create more and more chaos and we watch the violence reports on TV each morning and on the front pages each day.
  By thinking before creating Hate Free Zones the spirit of
  community and trust can allow
  reconciliation and the sense of security that comes from what we make of these zones and will take lots of work by lots of dedicated volunteers in the lead and goivernment adjsuting not commanding to assure the success of these programs. Early intervention with youth at risk for crime must be a high axtion and design priority. Guarantees that children are truly getting good and appealing education with full enthusiasm of the community must be never ending.

  • DECENTRALIZATION - in all matters of governance and delivery of public services we must be decentralized and all new infrastructure must be controlled locally.

  • COMMUNITY BASED ECONOMICS - The best way to fight globalization and the selling of America is to shop with locally owned businesses. This keeps the money in the community and gives it far greater value. Government can assist small, local businesses and give preference to locals over Corporate Box store invasion schemes that blight and then leave. Local businesses have a sense of community and respect for neighborhoods. We must have a cultural revolution away from corporate mentality and towards community development in sustainble forms. We need to grow our own near our home in community gardens protected as community land trusts to grow organic food

• • POST-PATRIARCHIALISM or feminism in bqlancing the past is occurring now- The feminist movement has taught us that the patriarchical order is a rule of ever spiraling destruction of all we hold dear, our institutions, our park lands and our neighborhoods and community. Respect for women and empowerment of the disenfranchised will give us the renaissance we need to solve the problems we face.

  • RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY - A a 63 year elder Gay man who has survived 31 years of acctive HIV Disabilities I have seen hatered up close and it hurts both the hated and the hater. Respect for each others differneces allows us to work together to solve our common problems. Democracy does not live long without respect for diversity.
  Our elctoral systems can be reformed to allow us to vote for our prefernces instead of winner take all bassed elections, giving us proportional representation which allows every group a seat at the table. Make every vote count. Vote for something for a change not always against some boogey boo that either of the two dinosaur parties would have you fear. Vote your hopes and use your wisdom to create change by showing up at the polls for change each and every election at each level. Also,then we will practice democracy and consensus building in all the community action groups we form. WE can save our farm land and manage growth and have agricultureal water and rivers if we comne together and not polarize aroudn teh old pesticide ways of chemical warfare on the land and so allow allof us the pursuit of happiness.

  • PERSONAL AND GLOBAL RSPONSIBILITY - Our ninth value commands us to a sense of planetary citezenship and guides us to take resposnibility for our own wasteful ways. The ninth Amendment gives us that right and its duties.
  We each and all must make this Disposable Society a creative one by refusing to waste.
  
  When we do waste and need to waste let us harness that waste as a resource and produce energy or recyclable materials!
