GOLLUM

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably seen the great Lord of the Rings movies in theatres! I've seen a lot of artist renditions of GOLLUM from this astounding trilogy. I was raised on the Rankin/Bass cartoon version, which looks like Shagrat described him in "The Two Towers", as a "starved frog". Most artists usually draw him looking like some kind of hobbit "vampire". But neither version seemed to capture him the way I imagined him. I think the reality is somewhere inbetween. So using Tolkein's own words, I've developed a 3D model that I think captures his essence best. I added new effects like glowing eyes to this model for your enjoyment. Hopefully you'll agree that my version of him has been stylized for optimum 'coolness'.

I made my Gollum a full year BEFORE the first LOTR movie, and I can't help noticing a striking resemblance to the movie Gollum, and my UT model Gollum. Check out these screenshots and ask yourself - who ripped off who?

"We'll pay everyone back!"

The good folks at POLYCOUNT gave him a 9 out of 10 score - which is high praise since I've only seen one model ever score a perfect 10! Not only that, he made the coveted spot of Polycount's MODEL OF THE WEEK! He's been downloaded over 10,000 times! Head over to Polycount and read the review for Gollum. Then follow the Polycount links to download him and get him into UT1 if you're still playing it.
