Flight Log Version 1.3

Software for Paraglider and Hang Glider Pilots

Sorting

The sort mode determines the order in which the flight log entries are presented both on the flight log form and when printing. The flight log can be sorted in five ways: by date, airtime, max MSL, over launch, and by distance. The current sort mode is shown at the bottom of the Flight Log form.

Filtering

You can use the filter to filter out specific types of flight log entries leaving only the entries you are interested in looking at. For example, the filter can be set to show only solo hang glider flights at a particular site. The current filter settings are also applied when printing.

List View

The list view allows you to see multiple flight entries, 23 per page, in a spreadsheet style form. The current sort and filter settings are applied.

Units of Measure

Wind speed, altitude, lift/sink rates, distance, and weight can all be entered in English or metric units and independently displayed in either English or metric units. The Time of Day can be entered in AM/PM or 24 hour format. The units of measure settings are stored in the flight log file and can be changed at any time. For example, you could enter the minimum and maximum total takeoff weights for a glider in kg and then view the equivalent weight in lbs.

GPS Coordinates

The latitude and longitude coordinates for launch, turn points, and landing can be stored for each flight on the Cross-Country Flight Detail form. This form can also compute the distance between the points.

Multi-Flight Entry

Multiple flights that occurred on the same day can be quickly entered using the multi-flight function.

Flight Log Import

Flight information from other programs can be imported in the Flight Log program. Information to import must be in a comma-delimited text file.

Site List Import

Site lists can be exported from a flight log file and then imported into a different flight log file. This allows you to share your site list with other Flight Log users.

Exporting Data

Information contained in the Flight Log program can be exported to comma-delimited text files, which can then be imported into other programs such as Access or Excel.

Printing

Information in any of the six main forms can be printed. When printing the flight log entries, you can select between printing a specific number of entries or printing all the entries. Whenever flight log entries are printed the current sort and filter settings are applied. This allows flexibility when outputting reports. For example if you want to print the top five longest tandem flights on a paraglider; set the sort mode to airtime, set the filter to show paraglider and tandem flights, and then print five entries.
