Whats happening with baby this week:
April 15th 2004 - April 21st

Visually, your baby may track moving objects with the eyes. When he or she blinks, the eye's iris responds to light and dark. The lungs and digestive track are nearly mature, although the last few weeks in-utero are still important for lung development. Your baby is now around 14-1/2 inches head to toe, and weighs almost three pounds, five ounces. Growth begins to slow a teeny bit, and the brain goes through a period of rapid development. The only major organ left to fully develop is the lungs. If your baby is a boy, his testes begin to descend from the body cavity to the scrotum.

Whats happening with mommy this week:

This is my first full weekend off in well, for a long time. I've been working 6 day work weeks since January. I'm not doing a damn thing all weekend! OK, maybe a couple errands. Randy's birthday is on the 19th. We went out to eat after work and then went to our birthing class. We watched a video of a baby being born. Now, I've seen this on TV, but not quite like this video. I must say it made me tear up a bit. I am just going to be blubbering when little Clover is born. As for how I'm doing, I don't really have a lot of complaints. I mean, I'm pregnant so I'm not my old swift moving always on the go self. I've slowed down a bunch. Randy has been doing most of the stuff around the house. I did clean the bathroom this week; it only took me two hours! Clean the counters, come sit down, clean the toilet, come sit down, clean the floor, come sit down, but, I got it done. I'm having a hard time climbing in and out of his truck. If it wasn't for the pain that seems to be located in my cervix I would be doing great. That is my only complaint. I'm not having any back pain, or much swelling. Although, I am having to pee every hour again. And, I have graduated to the handicap stall in the bathrooms now. I never noticed how low a public toilet is till now! I've also been assigned an emergency buddy at work. I kind of laughed when I heard this. Until I have the baby, I've been assigned someone to help me down the stairs in case of evacuation or emergency at work. My supervisor told me that it might be hard for me to go down 10 flights of stairs if I cant see them. Ug! Well, I guess she could be right. I'm not having a lot of trouble going down the stairs, but going up I'm not doing much of anymore. I'm still walking to and from the bus stop every day. Although, its taking me a bit longer every month.
