Whats happening with baby this week:
May 13th 2004 - May 19th

The average sized baby is around five and a half pounds now! The fat accumulations plump up the arms and legs this week. The baby has gotten big enough to take up most of the uterus, and there's less room to move around. The testes have completed their descent in males. While we will tell you that your baby weighs five pounds this week and measures 31cm crown to rump, or 16-1/2 inches long, this is only an estimate. In general, babies gain half a pound per week from this point on. You may notice that your baby has day-to-day active and resting patterns. This is because the uterus is growing thinner, which allows light to enter and influence baby's rhythms.

Whats happening with mommy this week:

This week my team from work gave me a baby shower during lunch. Randy came to join us. It was very sweet what all they did, and as it turns out they were really the only ones who bought stuff from our registry! They really went all out for us. I guess they took up a collection and bought us a few big items that we really needed. Again, don't forget to look at the baby gifts section coming soon. They bought the Jeep walker which Randy was very excited about. They also bought us a grooming kit and a thermometer; lots of great stuff. We have a couple crocheters in the bunch and we received some incredible crocheted items. It was a great day! On Friday Mom and Grandma flew in. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY FLEW IN JUST FOR THE BABY SHOWER!! This was so special. Randy went and picked them up from the airport in the afternoon then they came downtown to pick me up from work. We went out to dinner and caught up. When we came home, mom had a full suitcase full of stuff that was mine as a baby. Very cool stuff like clothes and shoes I used to wear, blankets I used to be wrapped up in. She brought me my baby book and another book full of pictures and cards and letter I used to write. That was too cool going through some of that stuff. Saturday Mom, Grandma, and me went and had our picture taken at a place mom and I saw set up on 82nd that morning when we went out shopping. Picture to follow! Then we all went to Saturday market. We walked around there for a couple hours then went to spaghetti factory for lunch. We sat there and talked for quite a while then went home and got ready for the baby shower that Julie put together for us. She did such a great job with help from Randy's mother and Lexie. We had great food and fun games and wonderful gifts. Again, don't forget to look at the baby gifts section coming soon. I was beyond tired at the end of the day. I seem to be getting worn out a lot quicker now days, but all and all I cant complain about how this pregnancy is going. On Sunday morning we made a quick trip to WalMart and out to breakfast with Julie, then took Mom and Grandma to the airport. It was such a quick trip for them but a blessing for me to have them here.

Well, Monday we had our last birthing class. They have given us a lot of information about what to expect with labor and what will happen when we get to the hospital. They have told us all about breastfeeding and touched on infant care. This was a good class, I think we should find another class to take after the baby is here.

Well, one last thought about how things are going with me. The baby has turned so S/he is no longer head down. Although I can sit much easier, it is harder to breath now. I'm moving very slow these days. I'm starting to get anxious about little Clovers arrival. I'm now focusing on what Clover will look like, and looking forward to holding him/her. I think I can finally say, I'm ready!
