Whats happening with baby this week:
May 20th 2004 - May 26th

With four weeks to go, our baby is almost ready. S/he could drop into the birth canal at any time now. This week, the fat is dimpling on the elbows and knees as well as forming creases in the neck and wrists. The baby's gums are very rigid. Your baby is now 32cm crown to rump, or 17 1/2 inches head to toe. He or she weighs in at a whopping five pounds, nine ounces. Even though your weight gain will slow this month, and you may even lose a pound or two during the final weeks, your baby is gaining weight rapidly, sometimes as much as a half a pound a week.

Whats happening with mommy this week:
Well, it has been another busy week. The big thing going on this week is we have another ultrasound planned for Thursday May 27th. It is very confusing, but I'll try to explain what is going on. Maybe if I write it out I will finally understand. If at the ultrasound the baby seems to be a good size, then we will go on as normal. If at the ultrasound the baby is projected to be too big, then they will give us a choice. We can either opt to have this baby by C-section or we can choose to be induced early. If we want to be induced then they will do an amnio to see if the baby is developed enough to be born early and if so, then we will check into the hospital Thursday night and be induced this Friday. YES, I SAID THIS FRIDAY!!! If the baby is not developed enough they will recommend C-section and we would probably schedule it around June 10th through the 16th. (Takes a breath)

O.K. Did you get all that? Very confusing I know. The point being, this baby may be here in less than one week! I think our baby room is just about done. I just need to pack my suitcase and clean up the house and I will be ready to go at any time. I'm feeling pretty good, no bad aches or pains. The baby has been giving me a few good kicks here and there that almost drop me though. I just know this baby is huge! Randy walked into the baby room today and said, “now all this room needs is a baby!” He has been ready for Clover for 9 months! He has been to every Doctor appointment, and tonight, I think I will send him out for a late night snack just because I have never done that to him before! I want to get one in during this pregnancy!
