Whats happening with baby this week:
October 16th - 22nd

At three weeks' gestation, five weeks after your Last Menstrual Period, early heartbeats, facial features and lung buds begin to form. Early evidence of eyes and inner ears. You may be interested in how your blood pressure is affected by pregnancy. The neural tube (later known as the spinal cord) begins to fuse. Baby is now growing rapidly. Tiny buds that will soon form the arms and legs appear, along with eyes, liver and the digestive system. You may need to wee a lot now. This is because your metabolism is improving and your uterus is growing. Other symptoms may include fatigue, nausea, and breast tenderness.

Whats happening with mommy this week:

FRIDAY OCTOBER 17th...Daddy bought us our first Mommy gift. A Glider rocking chair. I have a feeling Daddy will be using it lots too!

SUNDAY OCTOBER 19th ...I started feeling a bit more nauseous today. It has been great so far, no morning sickness. I have noticed on my walks that my back is hurting a bit and i'm out of breath more than I used to be. But everything I've read indicates that that is normal.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 22nd....Boy, am I tired of running to the bathroom every hour at work! My bladder never feels empty! I just finished reading the book "Your pregnancy Questions and Answers by Glade B. Curtis, M.D., OB/GYN and Judith Schuler, M.S. There was a lot of good information in there. I didn't read much of the last part of the book. It talked about more labor and delivery. I think I'll check this one out again in 6 months or so.
Randy and I have been talking more about what its going to be like once the baby comes. I know I am both excited and scared about what will happen. I'm starting to ask questions like, what will we do when I go back to work? Who will watch baby Grover? I know everything works itself out but these are the things I think about. In a perfect world I would love to stay home and take care of baby Grover. But, I will have to go back to work and I'm sure as June gets closer we will have that worked out and other things to think about. We have started talking about how we want to set up the nursery. What color we want to paint it, how we want to decorate it. We haven't made any decisions yet, but its all fun to talk about. I was thinking the other day that for our wedding my mother had bought Randy and I a puzzle to work. The idea being that now that the wedding planning was over, we would have extra time on our hands and would need something to do. What I was thinking was, WOW, we have never had time to work that puzzle!!!
