Whats happening with baby this week:
November 13th - 19th

At seven weeks’ gestation and nine weeks from your Last Menstrual Period, the embryo is 18-20mm (¾ inch)long. External genitalia are still not clearly defined. Groove for the urethra formed; anus formed. Baby's intestines have formed outside because they can’t fit inside.

Whats happening with mommy this week:

Can you even imagine that Clover is only ¾ of an inch and already looks like a little baby? Nothing brought home the fact that I have this life growing inside me more than seeing the little heart beat fluttering on the T.V. screen during the ultrasound. We have so much further to go, yet it seems like we've come so far.
We had some good news today. I've been keeping a blood sugar record by poking my finger 4 times a day. I called my Dr. with the results of last weeks readings and she said my numbers were so good that I could drop my testing down to 2 times a day and if by next week they are still good I can drop that to 3 times a week. Looks like as long as we keep doing what we are doing, this gestational diabetes things will stay under control.
We took our first trip to Baby's R Us. Randy's parents and Randy and I went last Sunday. Sharon is saying we need to pick out our theme for the baby room and colors and so on, and my head is just spinning. I didn't see anything in there I liked. Why do baby things have to be all in pastel colors? I like deep rich colors. And in no way am I a “bear” person. I'd like to find a cool rich purple and deep color bug pattern!! But no, Baby's R Us thinks all baby rooms should be pink hearts and blue bears. This just isn't my style and I think Randy would agree. Does a baby room REALLY need a THEME?? Everything else about the store made my head spin. Like, what kind of bottles do we need? What's the best stroller and car seat? And why does it seem like there are 500 different kinds of diapers?? How are you supposed to choose? Convertibles, supreme, ultra thin, and just what are leak guards? I think I'm going to need some help on this one!!
