The mission of our middle school program is to have our students by the end of the 8th grade spiritually and foundationally ready for the Confirmation Preparation program offered in 9th and 10th grade. To that end the following class schedule has been created.  Please note that all middle school students are also expected to attend the First Friday celebrations in order to satisfy the requirements for number of hours of class time established by the Diocese.

We will be using the following materials throughout the year with our middle school students:
Breakthrough Bible for Middle School Grades
As the title suggests, Breakthrough! The Bible for Young Catholics highlights what happens throughout salvation history between God and humanity. God breaks through and connects with human history, thereby establishing a relationship with humanity.

Using the Good News translation, Breakthrough! The Bible for Young Catholics was created for young people leaving childhood and entering adolescence. Its ten special features were created to help make the Bible easier for young people to read and understand.

They will learn about the great people of the Bible, and will see how God has been breaking through in human history and connecting with humanity for thousands of years. Most important, they will discover, in the Bible, how God's messages to key people of faith have meaning for life today.

 6th Grade Textbook

In our 6th grade this year our students will be learning about the Bible, and there is so much to learn about the Old and New Testaments, including:

Knowing and Understanding the Bible, Living by a Covenant, Living by Faith, Living Through Jesus, Who is Jesus? Following Jesus, The Early Church, Catholic Prayers and Practices, and Living as Disciples.

Students will have a much better understanding of the Bible and its place in our rich Catholic tradition.

 7th and 8th Grade Materials
This dynamite new faith formation program introduces Catholic young adolescents to Jesus Christ in a new way and inspires them to follow him. Fostering the faith of young adolescents involves helping them to make connections between the Catholic faith and everyday life. It also means helping young people to strengthen their connection to the faith community. Catholic Connections aims to strengthen the participants' Catholic identity and inspire them to participate more fully in the Church's mission. In a world of laws of nations and laws of the heart, help them recognize that it is the power of the Holy Spirit that has united God's people in love and that continues to be a transforming presence.

Using an active, hands-on approach to Catholic religious education, Catholic Connections is a comprehensive parish religious education program for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
