TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BYBERRY
1. This site is for educational purposes only. Myself, and the good people at Comcast do not encourage trespassing in any way. Byberry is federal property and if caught, you will be prosecuted. There are signs posted all around the grounds to let you know this. Okay, now that is over with, we can move on to the other nine.
2. Dark- It is very dark in byberry. Even during the day there are parts that are pitch black, especially the tunnels. I would recommend bringing flashlights and extra batteries. At least if your light dies, you wont have to feel your way out.
3. Security- Security patrols byberry 24-7. Look out for the white vehicle driving around the grounds. If caught you may be prosecuted. You can see where they frequent by judging how fresh the tire marks are in the ground. You can read more about security HERE
4. Other People- Though I have heard stories of homeless people, cults and ghosts, most likely you will encounter curious teenagers like your selves. So before you use that bat check and see who your hitting. I have also heard stories of a man who would chase people in the tunnels with a machete. Though this may be an urban legend I would still keep it in mind.
5. The People of Carter Road- Carter Road is probably the easiest, and quickest way into Byberry. The people who live along the street have been known to call security, who in turn calls the police. They all have security's number and will not hesitate to use it should they become suspicious. Try to find another way in.
6. Officer Mcgrath- This is the cop who gets his rocks off by catching kids on the weekends coming in and out of Byberry. I have had an experience with him, but luckily he did not see us on the grounds. He drives car 713 and patrols Carter Road and the surrounding are. You can read more on him HERE
7. Equipment- I would bring at least two flashlights, some form of liquid to drink (non-alcoholic), a copy of the map, boots, dark crappy clothes, and two pairs of socks on your feet. I would also recommend bringing some kind of a weapon just in case the situation arises where you may need to use it. You should also bring about 2-3 friends as there is safety in numbers.
8. Doctors Mask- There is loads of asbestos in the place, which is one of the reasons it was shut down. More parts then some, especially in the catacombs. These masks are very cheap and are usually about 2 or 3 for a few bucks. You should use these especially if you plan on being in there for a while.
9. Rubbish- All across the floors, there is layers upon layers of glass, trash, and pieces of the building. If you do accidentally cut your self on something in there, I would seriously recommend getting a tetanus shot. Click HERE to see the needle they will be jabbing you with.
10. Fun- Byberry is all about fun. Whether it is exploring, being scared, or meeting people, byberry always has, and is about having a good time. When you go in there and do stupid things like lighting fires, vandalizing, or breaking things it ruins it for not only the rest of us, but those to come. Always remember to have a good time, but also to keep your head on straight.
