Who and what, you may ask, is Chapter K "Kruisers"?
We are a local group of people that enjoy doing IT!!! ("It" being "Kruising" on our motorcycles, mostly Honda GoldWings, but all brands are welcome!) We belong to the national association known as GWRRA. (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) We meet on the second Sunday of every month to discuss what we like to do... RIDE MOTORCYCLES!!! (There are lots of trips and rides to plan!)
The monthly
meeting will be held on the second Sunday at the Downtowner Resturant at Market
Square on Greenbush St. in Lafayette, IN. Meetings
start at 9:00 AM. The fun
starts at 8:00 - we love to eat, and maybe even ride some after the meeting! We
also meet Wednesday evenings during the Riding Season (usually April
through October) in Market Square parking lot (across from the new Payless)
on Greenbush at 6:30 PM to ride somewhere and EAT.
(Did I mention that we love to eat?) If that isn't enough, we meet every Sunday at 12:00 AM at the same place and ....What else...
Ride on a longer trip and EAT!!

With GWRRA
and Chapter K, you have the opportunity to participate in something almost every weekend
throughout the riding season, and even during the winter months. We ride on day trips, weekend trips, and
even weeklong and multiple week trips. We visit historic sites, scenic
areas, and are always in search of the twisty road to enjoy on our Motorcycles.
Our past trips have taken us to places like the Smoky Mountains, Niagara Falls,
the Ozark Mountains, Black Hills, SD, the Blueridge Parkway through VA, W. VA,
NC, and TN. The list goes on and on! We also ride the scenic roads
of Southern Indiana whenever possible, visiting towns like Nashville, French
Lick, West Baden, and even Story. We visit other GWRRA Chapters, and participate in their rides and fundraisers.
We also attend District (State), Region, and National Rallies. "Spring
Wing WarmUp", sponsored by the Indiana District, is being held this year in beautiful
Portland, IN. The Region D Rally has been held in several locations,
including Tiffin and Lima, OH. "Wing Ding", our National Rally, has been
held in places like Springfield, MO., Madison, WI., Greensboro, SC., and even
here in Fort Wayne, IN!! Some of us
enjoy camping on our trips and others prefer the comfort of hotels and motels.
But we are not only about Riding and Eating.
We are also one big extended family. We are there for each other when things are bad or good. We celebrate the births and mourn the deaths of our fellow chapter members families. We share in the joy of a new home, car, new motorcycle, new grandbaby, etc. We provide support to each other when times are bad. And we joke around and have fun. We all love a practical joke and the good natured ribbing that goes along with a member goofing up and doing something silly. We award the "Krazy Kaper" to a deserving member at each monthly meeting.
Chapter K also seeks out and financially assists local charities and good causes. We are currently assisting Mercy Flights, who fly sick people and their families to scheduled doctors appointments and hospitals free of charge. We may plan a Poker Run or other fund raising activity to further donate to our chosen cause.
We also participate in the Christmas Parade in late November/early December, and other parades in the area.
We promote safe riding, and many of us take advantage of GWRRA's Rider Education programs and seminars, and some of us participate in GWRRA's "Levels" program, taking First Aid and CPR courses.
