HOLMDEL HALF CENTURY CLUB
Policy & Practices
The Board of Directors, after due consideration, wish to clarify and confirm some of the policies and practices of the Club.
I. Concerning the acceptance of membership applications, it is the policy of the Club to accept new members at any meeting during the course of the year. However, it should be noted that membership involves attending our meetings on a regular basis. (excluding vacations, sickness, business requirements, transportation, weather, infirmity. etc.) and participating in our activities, helping in the kitchen and the clean-up afterwards. Membership for the sole purpose of attending our trips and luncheons is not acceptable. It is not fair to the Club membership, as a whole.
It sould be noted that members in good standing will have first preference on our trips. etc, should non-members be invited, they will be charged extra as applicable
2. The sign-in sheet at the entrance records your attendance.
3. At each meeting members will be assigned to assist in the kitchen and clean up the tables as necessary. All physically able members are expected to take their turn and assist when asked.
4. At catered luncheons, covered dishes, barbecues etc. please be mindful of the: members following you, especially those at the end of the line. OverloadIng your plate is a disservice to those members who may then not have the same diversified selection as you. You can always return for seconds. Your attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated.
6. It is very distracting to the person at the microphone when a number of members are talking or are otherwise involved. This is especially discouterous to guest speakers and those members who may have a hearing difficulty. If you did not hear something or did not understand it, please request the speaker to repeat or clarify it. Should there be something so urgent or of such importance at your table that it cannot wait, please request time and the microphone will be turned over to you. In this way all members may benefit from your discussion. The foregoing is meant to promote a sense of decorum at our meetings for the benefit of everyone.
TRIPS
1) Payment must be received two (2) meetings prior to the trip. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2) If a participant cannot attend, he/she Must notify the chairperson of the trip to see if a waiting list is available. If there is no waiting list, it is the participant's responsibility to find a paid replacement. NO REFUNDS
3) Members have priority over non-members when registering for trips.
LUNCHEONS
1) Payment for luncheons must be received two (2) meetings prior to the luncheon.
2) DO NOT come to luncheons unless you have a reservation. To show up unannounced is very embarrassing to the Club members and possibly causes problems with seating, etc. Please be considerate.
Your support in these matters will make for a more enjoyable and productive meeting.
Finally, your suggestions and constructive ideas are always welcomed and appreciated
