Portrait Information

Portraits are semi-impressionistic.

Portraits are typically done in color with traditional watercolor unless high-contrast black and white has been requested.

Getting Started: Begin by choosing a photograph.  Relaxed, candid photos that show emotion, personality, action, or a connection to one’s surrounding are often better suited for paintings than rigidly posed or studio portraits.  Please visit the page on choosing the perfect photograph if you are interested in additional tips to aid in your selection.  Once you’ve selected your photo or narrowed your choice, please contact me, and we can discuss your potential project and answer any questions that you may have!

If you send your photograph to me via regular mail, please make sure that it is not your only copy and that you place a piece of heavy cardboard inside the envelope to prevent your photo from becoming damaged in the mail.  Once I have received your photograph, and we have spoken or communicated via e-mail, I can begin work on your project!

Portrait sizes and turnaround times vary per request.  Special scheduling circumstances can be taken under consideration.  However, portraits are typically scheduled one or two per week on a first come/first serve basis.  Affordable prices: $70.00 and below.  Ask about frequent promotional discounts.  Totally Risk Free:  If you are not happy with the finished product, you are under no obligation to purchase the painting.  I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
