Iyengar yoga is a form of Hatha yoga. Hatha describes any physical yoga that involves postures. The use of props distinguishes Iyengar yoga from other forms of Hatha yoga. B. K. S. Iyengar, a man now in his 80s, developed the various props -- blocks, straps, sandbags, and chairs -- so that every type of body can enjoy yoga in proper alignment.
Not limited to beginners, Barbara's intermediate Iyengar classes provide asanas* for experienced students to explore, making her an excellent teacher for any level student.
