Holtzberg Family History

Hirsch Holtzberg and Zeesa or Zezia (maiden name unknown) lived in Lithuania in the 1800s. Hirsch and Zeesa had a daughter Esther Minda (said to have been born in Salant) and son Leibe. Minda married Abner Robinson in Russia, had six children there before immigrating about 1891. Four of six of Leibe's children immigrated to the United States, and Leibe was in this country for awhile. One of Leibe's daughters immigrated in 1923 through Ellis Island. Others came earlier. Hirsch's grandchildren settled in Maryland, Virginia and Indiana. The Zieves were second or third cousins on the Holtzberg side of the family, and Anna Zieve married into the Robinson family but the connection is not yet known.
