The Old Pond-
To the left is a picture of the original pond. Actually, it is probably more fair to call it a "water feature". Even so, and not knowing any better at the time, it seemed like a great idea to add some fish...
Hungry Critters-
Before long, these trailblazing koi dissapeared. One by one, they became victims of (sad to say) rather hungry predators that were more than happy to take part of the "koi trough".
Renovation Project-
With tenacity a new pond was constructed, involving many trips hauling rocks, plants, and eventually more koi. As an added feature, fiber optic pond lights were also added, as shown in the picture on the left.
A New Hope-
The pond is now bigger, deeper, and, most importantly, has various anti-critter features including a home made koi cave courtesy of a custom slab of acrylic and multiple scarecrows. So far, the denzions of the deep seem relatively content with their new home. For a closer look at my Koi so far, click on the school below.
