Chas is a student at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX, Adrienne is studying in Ft Worth, TX, for her Nurse Anesthetist degree (there is some commuting!)

 

Chas is working on his MA in Theology at ACU.  His current interests are in the fields of religious epistemology [what people know (or claim to know) and how they know it regarding religion], human cognition (how the mind thinks), and the psychological implications of moving beyond a Cartesian definition of knowledge (that knowledge equals justified true belief).  Following the MA, Chas will pursue a Ph.D. in Philosophy focusing on epistemology (hopefully at Rutgers, which currently has the foremost scholars in the field).  Books he is currently reading include Canon and Criterion in Christian Theology by William Abraham (a discussion of the roots and meaning of the word ‘Canon’ and the dangers of the church canonizing a particular epistemology), Contemporary Perspectives on Religious Epistemology edited by R. Douglas Geivett and Brendan Sweetman (pretty self explanatory), and Muhammad: a Biography of the Prophet by Karen Armstrong (a sympathetic but well articulated bio of Muhammad, the founder of the Islamic faith).
