Working in a small area with large pieces of equipment presents many challenges. Most of the equipment is placed on mobile bases to enable safe usage and movement as necessary.  Here are 5 photos of the shop that is setup in half of my basement.

Most woodworkers find out the hard way that dust control is very important.  I have 3 pieces of equipment that help control and almost eliminate dust in my shop.  Pictured here is my Tempest Cyclone dust collector made by Penn State Industries.  Also pictured is my over-head JDS Air Tech 2000 High Efficiency air filtration system.

Another important addition to my shop was this home-made down draft table that I created.  I use it for sanding as much as possible.  When in use, the amount of airborne dust is almost eliminated.  I even surprised myself with how well this homemade unit works.

The entire hobby started with this Hegner Multimax-18 Scroll Saw.  Actually, it started about 2 weeks prior with the purchase/replacement of 4 different Scroll saws from Sears!  I got my money back ASAP.  As with many other items, when it comes to scroll saws, you only get what you pay for.  I have tried other high-end scroll saws.  But I still have not used anything that works as well as this Hegner.

My neighbor, who is really into woodworking, was going to purchase a new Delta Radial Arm Saw.  He sold this older Craftsman model to me.... this is obviously when Sears sold a quality woodworking saw with the Craftsman name!  It works well.  You will notice that I have hooked up my dust collection system to most of this equipment.

In addition to the 2 Porter Cable random orbit palm sanders that I use, I rely on this Delta Sanding Center to do a lot of work.  It has a 6" belt and a 12" disc sander.  There are many other attachments available for this unit.

The only way that I was able to complete many of my projects without a good table saw wasdue to my neighbor having a good Delta unit.  I recently purchased this new Delta Limited Edition 10" Contractors Table Saw.  It came with the 30" Unifence and the table extension on the right side.  Although I enjoy visiting my neighbor and his shop, it is nice to be able to do the work right at home!

Another piece of equipment that gets a lot of use is this Delta 14" Wood Cutting Band Saw.  I have a rip fence attachment that I have found to be very useful.

The Delta 16 1/2" Floor Model Drill Press.  The addition of the table bed gives me greater flexibility when using this machine.

I just purchased this Porter Cable Pancake Compressor.  It came packaged with a Porter Cable Brad Nailer and a Porter Cable Finish Nailer.  It also included the 25' of hose.  This will surely speed up the assembly process on many projects.
