Original mounting bracket for our racks on the floor of the TSV
Computer Room.
|
Our rack was too long & wide to fit inside the mounting box, the
mounting had to be re-worked when we arrived onsite.
|
The mounting bolts for the racks on the floor of the TSV Computer Room
can only be accessed from below the floor. That means accessing them
from the cargo bay (it's about 25 feet from the deck to the ceiling).
Here's what the view from below the computer room floor looks like.
Notice the ceiling tiles have already been removed so we can access the
bolts. When you stick your head up inside those ceiling tiles, it's
about 110 degrees up there.

|
See how substantial the existing TSV racks are? The mounting rails in
the Incat/TSV racks are 5/16" thick. Sun rails are only 1/8"...

Here's a pic of our rack laying on the cargo deck after the equipment
was emptied. Jody Jeffries & I took it apart. This is a view from
the top of the rack...

Here's a closeup of the bottom with the casters & brackets removed.

Matt Pallotta drilling into the steel base of the rack. That "H" like
silver thing leaning against the side of the rack is the mounting
bracket fabbed especially for our rack by PKMM. We removed the casters,
attached the "H" to the bottom of the rack, slid it into place &
bolted the rack to the floor from below.

Matt Pallotta cooling off his new best friend! The drillbit shown is
called a "Unibit". They cost $30 a piece. We broke 10 of them &
cornered the mkt on unibits on the island of Guam!

All 3 of the racks finally in place.
