The desire I've had stirring in me to write this booklet has some specific purposes.
The first is to encourage women on their home fronts. No matter what your circumstances or role, God's word teaches us invaluable truths to set us free. Having been single longer than most, an at-home wife and mother but also a working wife and mother, I know how much women need encouragement in their roles as women. The format of this booklet is to encourage you to read His word (not just mine) and hear from Him. Nothing is more valuable than hearing from Him, your maker and the One "who knows you best but loves you most."
Secondly, I desire to help those who haven't yet fallen into some of the pits I have, to avoid them - if not miss them altogether. I would like to transfer some of the truths I've learned to other women, to help them in their walk with the Lord.
Thirdly, in this day and age women are so isolated. Often there is no one around to give the new mother instruction or answer questions or help out. The Lord is her only source - and He is enough - but it sometimes helps to know that there are others "with skin on" who have struggled with the same things you are now struggling, and together see what His word says because His word sets free.
Lastly, and by no means least of all, to facilitate you to go to the Source of all encouragement in prayer with your needs. I desire this booklet to stimulate you to put God's kingdom first so that all He has for your life will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). I desire to spur you on to love and good deeds; to lift a standard on your home front above the mediocre, undisciplined lives we see so readily displayed in our culture.
