Workshop graphic The garage windows get a splash of seasonal color, with the addition of these cedar flowerboxes.

Workshop graphic All pretty self-explanatory. Front, back, sides and bottom are all 1/2" cedar. Sides are glued and screwed into dado joints in the front and back. The bottom has 1" holes drilled through it for water drainage, and is screwed in from the sides and front.

Workshop graphic The brackets are cut from 2x6 scraps with a jigsaw. They're scribed to match the profile of the siding on the garage. The brackets are screwed through the garage wall, into 2x4 cross-braces between the garage wall studs. After the brackets are installed, set the flowerbox on them and screw the box to the brackets.

Workshop graphic I ran my router with a 45-degree V-bit around the edges to give a slight bevel to the edges and corners, then primed and painted.
