About this project:
This patch I made isn't terribly different than the current one out there, instead of changing part of the code that causes the crash like the current fix; the one I did bypasses the entire section of code completely. Hopefully this may work better for some people. Also with how the installer is written it should be able to install the game from the original CD at the same time it installs the patch so people don't need to fiddle with any compatibility mode settings in XP. I've tested this on two Windows XP PC's and one Windows 2000 machine, all three have NTFS drives and worked flawlessly. I hope it will work as well for everyone else :-)
After the patch is applied there will be no more crashes, among other miscellaneous fixes. You can also choose to install version 1.0 before patching to 1.1 for those that have conflicts when running the installer on the CD.
Anyone can help out by submitting errors they find to me, there are bound to be more I missed and as long as you give me the exact error as it comes up I can fix it. My contact information is at the bottom of the page for people that would like to help or just give some feedback.
