Mortal Kombat Trilogy 2000/XP Update Current MK Trilogy version: 2.1 last updated 03-24-2009 03:50 AM About this project: I wrote this little patch when I looked at the current workaround floating around the net that helps in getting the game working and realized its simply a file that tells windows XP what compatibility mode to set windows to when it runs the game. This is of course worthless for Windows 2000 users and sound is crippled for many XP users as well. The game may somewhat work with the compatibility file but it’s far from windows NT compliant and far from running 100%. That’s where the patch I made comes in. I've seen it reported on many sites that the bug has something to do with the video but it seems the sound is the real problem. When the game tries to play certain sounds or stop certain sounds it crashes. I removed well over 200 of the instructions that cause this error. After the patch is applied sound will work on Windows 2000 and XP and there will be no more crashes, among other misc fixes. Anyone can help out by submitting errors they find to me, there are bound to be more I missed since there are so many sounds and as long as you give me the exact error as it comes up I can fix it.
