drew ice for Irene and Ray Stevens [Irene's Diaries]. On August 9, 1954 "Son
worked on road + ate dinner on front porch with Earl Pitcher + Gramp Aiken."
On March 8, 1955 "Town meeting + Earl Pitcher lost to Benny Crosby for road
agent." -- and the next day "Ben Crosby new road agent. Earl Pitcher
out. Bill Hayes out job too." Same time the following year: "Clark got
road agent - Pitcher lost again." In August 1958, Sonny and Joanne moved
the apartment at Earl and Vera's house.

1934, the road agent for the town of Alstead paid Maurice Pitcher $21.40 for
"labor". [1935 Alstead Town Rpt]] On 29
June 1953, Grammy Irene started working in his
store in Alstead village. On 14 Aug 1953, he was hospitalized for his back. He moved on 5 Sep that same year,
had an auction on 30 Sep. [1953 - Irene's diaries] On 19 Dec 1952, Irene makes a note
that May "moved to the old Ellis place. Pitcher owns it." On December
1, 1955, "Son got up early + hunted deer - no luck. Maurice Pitcher too"
December 7 1956: "Grace + I got gro. at Pitchers" October 21, 1958:
"Maurice Pitcher lost job." Listed as a "compositor" in the
Alstead NH Annual Report (Vital Statistics, Births Registered...)
