Hemingway's extreme geographies
14th Biennial Hemingway Society Conference
in Lausanne, Switzerland 2010

June 25 to July 3, 2010

The sessions will convene on the beautiful campus of the University of Lausanne, which is situated on the shores of Lac Léman with stunning views of the Alps.  Inspired by the setting, the conference theme is "Hemingway's Extreme Geographies."

PRE-REGISTRATION PACKAGE

We know how confusing it can be to travel to a conference.  For that reason, we've assembled two documents to help you plan your trip:

(1) Basic Information and Logistics
(.pdf file; also available as a Word document, click HERE)
This document includes information on time zone, currency, climate, languages, business and store hours, emergency phone numbers and dialing instructions, directions from Geneva and Zurich to Lausanne, directions to hotels, directions to campus, directions to the opening cocktail.  It also includes maps of Lausanne, the Lausanne Metro system, and the University of Lausanne campus.

(2) Hemingway's Extreme Geographies conference program (this is the FINAL VERSION)
(.pdf file; also available as Word document, click HERE)

You will, of course, receive a more formal version on the conference program when you arrive as well.  Please note  that session numbers have changed since the last tentative version of the program, but no other major changes have been made to regular sessions.

We are sorry to inform you that Noel Riley Fitch is unable to attend the conference.  She has designed a wonderful menu for the PEN/Hemingway dinner, so she will still be guiding our meal!

We hope you find these documents helpful.  Of course, if you have questions or concerns, you may reach us anytime at
hemingway2010@comcast.net.

We look forward to seeing you in Lausanne soon!
