Herb King
February 27, 1942 - November 6, 2007
During the first full week of November 2007, word slowly made its way through the greater New Bedford and Boston communities that Herb King had passed away in Savannah, Georgia. The jazz world has truly lost a master drummer who shared so much with students and audiences throughout his lifetime. Musical offerings were put forth by a long list of Herb's friends for this event which was held at The New Bedford Whaling Museum. A standing room only crowd filled the auditorium.
