The waves of sea-grasses are gone, oyster beds have disappeared, and bacteria counts rise to unhealthy levels after major storms. Here's how AHB hopes to help restore the health of Herring Bay:
Bacteria monitoring: AHB is monitoring bacteria counts at key locations in Herring Bay, including Rockhold and Tracys Creeks. Our results are avaialable in this Excel spreadsheet or this PDF.
Water clarity monitoring: AHB is monitoring the clarity of the water in Herring Bay. To see the results, see this Excel spreadsheet.
Precipitation Monitoring: Volunteers from AHB are keeping track of precipitation trends in the Herring Bay area by participating in CoCoRaHS. To see the local results, click here and look for station MD-AA-21.
