Elmer Oris Parker in his "Book of Remembrance" has birth as Aug 22, 1814 which appears correct if David's older brother John was born in May, 1812.

Fabian at http://www.doles.org has Mary Poppell Delk, born 1805, married David Delk, born 1806, in Liberty County, Georgia. The 1850, 1860, and 1870 Censuses indicate she was born about 1815

Every Burney household in the state of Georgia and Florida listed in 1870 GA census searched for an Ella Gertrude Burney with no success.

Ella is probably the daughter of David and Winney Burney living in Wayne county near the James Fleming Chapman houshold. Winney died before 1870 and Ella Gertrude could have taken residence with James Fleming Chapman and his third wife, Ester Ann Strickland Pendarvis. Her responsibilities would have been to help Ester with the household chores. Ester later dies and Ella stays and becomes the forth and last wife of James Fleming.

One possible source that needs to be investigated is the diary of John Byrd Chapman. I do not know what happened to Ella after James Fleming died in 1890. Joseph would be only one year old at that time. I find no reference to Mary Etta, Joseph, or Ella anywhere after the death of James Fleming Chapman.

Wiley Adams lived very close to Eliza Ann Davis so I suspect that Daniel is the son of Wiley.

Eliza Ann DAVIS [Parents] was born 1833 in Wilkerson Co., GA (Now Montgomery Co., GA). She married Daniel ADAMS.

Alice was the wife of Dr. John M. HallM.D. Mrs. Hall, while in her 80's, wrote a book Gone With The Ebbing Tide.

Joseph went to live with Otis Chapman, s/o George Washington Chapman, after the death of his parents.

Ella, his mother, died in 1897. His sister, Mary Etta married John Gordon in 1899.
Speculation: Perhaps Joseph lived with his sister, Mary Etta, and later, with her and her husband until Mary died in 1900. This means that Joseph could have been 10 years old when he moved in with Otis. Lynn Ora Chapman, d/o Otis Chapman, remembers Uncle Joe. She states that Joe lived with her dad from the age age of 5 until he was 18. Joe then moved to Pensacola, FL. He had a portable saw mill that could harvest trees in swamp land.

Mina Mary STUCKEY [Parents] was born 25 Jan 1894. She died 2 May 1980. Mina married Joseph Fleming CHAPMAN on 28 Jan 1912 in FL.

Margaret Louise Chapman never married or had children. She lived with her mother, worked for the Navy at Pensacola, and later cared for her mother. She was one of my favorite aunts, she was fun and a very lovable person.
