Mrs. Starke Died Here Early Today After Brief Illness
Mrs. Johnnie Alice Curry Starke died early today at the Brunswick hospital after a short illness. She was the widow of Carl S. Starke, Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Brunswick residing at 3113 Kemble Ave. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joesph Moskowitz and Mrs. Gordon Poppell, both of Brunswick; son Carl F. Starke Jr. of Brunswick; two sisters, Mrs. H. D. Dye and Mrs. Grace Smith, both of Hialeah, FL; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services under the direction of Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Harmon officiating Entombment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Thad Dankel, Jim Morczkowske, Leon Browning, Harvey Harris, Sonny Miller and Johnnie Dankel. Honorary will be Hoyt Brown, J.D. Andrews, Jimmy Cook, L. O. Porter, Dr. Edwin Mayo, Judge Winebert Flexer, Joe Webster, Nat Dankel, Spencer Subers, Bill Westberry, A.H.Leavy, Randall Cribb, Dr. J.B. Avera and Willard Eubanks. The body will remain in the chapel of the funeral home for the services.
