This son, James W. Morgan was probably the James W. Morgan who married Jennie Laffoon in Clay County on 11 Mar 1880, and was living with her in Platte Township, Clay County, Missouri in 1880.  He was one of only four Morgans living in Clay County who were born in Virginia (the others being Andrew Morgan and his son Victor, and Clifton Morgan).
