Very often children are named for maternal ancestors. Therefore I spentmany hours looking for connections to Brownfields, Esteps, Newells, andwondered about the name Adoniram Judson. Turned out that they were allBaptist ministers or missionaries!

It took me some time to make the connection between William and ErasmusJoseph, because William was not named in his will, except as executor. Itseems that he had already given William the farm. It was only in arelease signed by his siblings that it finally stated that WilliamBrownfield was their brother, and therefore the son of Erasmus Joseph.

In 1851, the congregation dissolved.The church grounds were donated by Elias Parshall who, with ErasmusAlton, contributed mainly to its support during the period of itsexistence."
