THE WILL OF MARGARET KOSHT
In the name of God, Amen - I Margaret Kosht of the County of Randolph and the State of North Carolina being at this time in reasonable health and sound mind and memory calling to mind the certainty of death and the uncertainty of time, I do think proper to make the following distribution of all my worldly goods. First my will and desire is that all my just debts be paid out of my estate. 2nd I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Barbary Garner five shillings current money to be raised out of my estate. 3rd I give and bequeath to my daughter Susannah Latham five shillings current money to be raised as aforesaid. 4th I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Williamson five shillings current money to be raised as before mentioned. 5th I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Truman five shillings to be raised as aforesaid out of my estate. Sixthly and lastly my will and desire is that the rest of my estate real and personal be equally divided between my three children that is to say my beloved son John Hair and my son Peter Hair and my beloved daughter Elizabeth Vuncannon. Also all my cash in hand and due by obligation to be divided as before mentioned between my three children above named. Lastly I do constitute and appoint my son John Hair and my son Peter Hair my executors to this my last will and testament.

The execution of the above will was duly proven in open court by the oath of John Shamburger as subscribing witness and duly ordered to be recorded.

WRITER"S NOTE: The children receiving five shillings each were children of Adam Andrews and mentioned in his will of March 24, 1792, eighteen years before the will of Margaret Kosht, and both wills were made in Randolph County. Perhaps they were Margaret's step children. Her will treated them as such.
