The author wishes to thank the many friends who have assisted in the preparation of this work. An effort has been made to make it as accurate as possible. Facts and dates obtained from different sources sometimes vary and no doubt mistakes have been made.

It is apparent that no effort has been made to extend all the family lines to all present day generations. This is due to the time and work that this would require.

Many sources of information have been used in the preparation of this work via: Church records, grave stones, histories, historical societies archives, libraries, newspapers, court records, word of mouth, personal knowledge, etc, and although far from complete, it is offered with the hope that this will be a help to anyone who is interested in the Chapman genealogy.
