History
The Highlands First Aid was founded by a group of dedicated volunteers to save lives and provide first aid. In 1930 six Highlands fireman take first aid training and form the Highlands First Aid Squad. In 1931 the Highlands First Aid Squad becomes independent of the fire department.
In 1937 the Squad purchased it's first new Cadillac ambulance.
In 1947, the Squad purchased this Cadillac ambulance. Note the fire extinguisher located in the front finder.
The current building was dedicated in 1950.

In the 1950's the First Aid Textbook consisted of 249 pages. Today's Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) manual contains more than 945 pages! |
