The Family of Ada Mae Budd and John Rodarmel

Ada Mae Budd, daughter of Joseph, was born on May 28, 1869 probably at Constantine, Michigan. She died at the age of fifty-eight years, eleven months and twenty-eight days on May 26, 1927 at Tacoma, Washington. Rachel Mary Budd cites May 27, 1927 as the date of Ada Mae's death. She was buried in the Mt. View Cemetery at Tacoma, Washington. Ada was a nurse. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Seattle, Eureka Lodge Rebekahs and Custer Relief Corps Auxiliary of Tacoma.

Ada first married at Shelton, Nebraska on March 30, 1887 to John Rodarmel, son of John Rodarmel and Susan Deedte. John was born about 1837 at Peoria, Illinois. He died about 1899 as Ada is listed as a widow in the 1900 U.S. census return, having been married for twelve years. There is an indication that John might have been married prior to his marriage to Ada. The Buffalo County, Nebraska marriage records has an entry in 1892 for Mamie Rodarmel, age 16, and Warren Gill, age 20.

Ada and John had three children.

  1. Georgiana Rodarmel was born on April 6, 1887 at Shelton, Nebraska. She died at the age of forty-one years, eight months and ten days on 16 December 1928 at Tacoma, Washington. On her death certificate, her father's name is given as George Henry. On her daughter's delayed birth registration her name is given as Georgiana Henry. It has been reported that Georgiana's father was a traveling salesman. However, there is no firm evidence to support this story.

Georgiana married on February 5, 1907 at Seattle, Washington to Charles Robert McMahon, son of Robert B. McMahon and Elisa Stout. He was born on December 20, 1874 in the State of Kansas. He died on May 31, 1915 at Tacoma, Washington. He was a saloonkeeper and hotel owner.
