The Family of Elisa Butler and Aaron Ayres

Elisa Butler, daughter of Samuel, was born about 1831 at Bottisham, England. It is reported that the records of the Particular Baptist Chapel at Lode, England show that she was christened on November 3, 1831.

Elisa married on October 4, 1848 at Bottisham, England to Aaron Ayres, son of William Ayres and Elizabeth Harvey. Witnesses to they marriage were Moses Ayres and Mary Ayres. Aaron, who was an agricultural laborer, was born about 1823 at Bottisham, England.

Elisa and Aaron lived: at Mill House in 1851, on High Road in 1861 and on Mill Road in 1871.

Elisa and Aaron had ten children. The names of their children and the approximate year of their births were obtained from the various British census returns between 1851 and 1881. All of the children were born at Bottisham, England.

1. Alfred Ayres was christened on June 3, 1849. Apparently he died in infancy.
2. Alfred Ayres was born about 1851. He appears to have married Mary (May) -?-.

   Alfred and Mary had at least one child.

   1. Albert William Ayres was born on October 14, 1885 at Stockton-on-Ties, England. He died on July 15, 1948.

      Albert married on September 24, 1910 to Annie Davies

      Albert and Annie had two children

      1. Elsie Ayres was born on November 8, 1911. She married Frank J. Stuchlit

         Elsie and Frank had at least one child

         • Albert Von Stuchlit for whom there is presently no information
      2. Robert Samuel Ayres was born on August 27, 1922.
3. William Ayres was born about 1852.
4. Harry Ayres was born about 1854.
5. Naomi Ayres was born about 1856.
6. Isreal Ayres was born in March 1858. He is reported to have died on or about September 4, 1945. He emigrated to America in 1876 first settling in LaPeer County, Michigan where he engaged in farmer. He eventually migrated to Shelton, Nebraska where he was a farmer.

   Isreal married on November 24, 1886 at Matamora, Michigan to Mary Jennie Richardson, daughter of Henry James Richardson and Mary Ann Wright. Mary Jennie was born in November on 1862 at Ellerby, England. she died at the age of eighty-two at the home of her daughter on October 23, 1945 at Grand Island, Nebraska. She was buried at Wood River, Nebraska. Mary Jennie came to American in 1883, first settling in Michigan

   Isreal and Mary Jennie had two daughters.

   1. Gertrude V. Ayres was born in June of 1880. She married on June 3, 1906 to John Lowe.
   2. Helen Mary Ayres was born about 1898. She married on June 5,1930 to George Bedford.
7. Deborah Ayres was born about 1860
8. Kitty Ayres was born about 1861 or 1862.
9. Mary Ayres was born about 1864. In 1880, she is living with her uncle, William Butler.
10. Martha Ayres was born about 1865.
11. Hephzibah Ayres was born about 1868.
