Mary Butler, daughter of Samuel, was
born about 1845 at Bottisham, England. It is reported
that she immigrated to America about 1888. However, she was found in the 1901 England census for Soham, Cambridgeshire living on Station Road with her nephew, William Hunt.
Mary married Charles Spring, son of Charles Spring and Susan [Family name unknown]. Charles was born about 1816 or 1817 at Soham. He died in September of 1882 at Bottisham, England. Charles was a farm bailiff.
Mary and Charles had two children.
- Susan Spring was born about 1865 at Bottisham, England. The 1881 England Census reported that Susan was employed as a lady’s help.
It appears that Susan married Thomas B Hunt. She and Thomas had at least five children: Thomas C, William, Ethal M, J---, and Florence. Thomas was a millwright and agricultural machinist by profession.
- William Charles Spring was born about 1868 at Bottisham, England. He is enumerated in the 1891 England Census for Surrey, Mitcham as living with the family of Thomas P. Sheppard. His occupation is given as a grocer’s assistant.
