Grace Curtis, daughter of Samuel was born on September 4, 1876 at Avoca, Iowa. She died on January 23, 1928 at Wood River, Nebraska. She was fifty-one years, four months and nineteen days of age at the time of her death. She was buried on January 25, 1928 in Wood River Cemetery at Wood River, Nebraska.
Grace first married at Audubon, Iowa to Grant Reeves. It is reported that Grace was fifteen at the time. This would suggest 1891 as the year of their marriage. Presently there is no information on Grant. It is reported that Grant abandoned Grace some time late in 1892 in order to go west. Grace was granted a divorce from Grant on October 11, 1895.
On August 1, 1891, Grant and Grace sold
"Lot Nineteen (19) in Block Forty-Two (42) in the Town of Audubon"
to A. F. Armstrong for $450. This is the same lot which Grand had purchased from A. F. Armstrong and his wife Clara T. on January 27, 1891 for $150.
Grace and Grant had two children.
- Wallie Homer Reeves was born on April 18, 1893 at Avoca, Iowa. He died on February 13, 1951 at Grand Island, Nebraska. He adopted his step-father's surname of Gleason which he passed on to his descendants.
Wallie's World War I draft registration cards, which was dated June 5, 1917, tells us that he was born in Audubon, Iowa on April 18, 1893. He was employed as a farm laborer by Harry Butler. He was of medium height and built. He had brown eyes and dark hair. He was living in Shelton, Nebraska.
Wallie was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Kearney, Nebraska and the American Legion Post of Lexington, Nebraska, having served with the American Expeditionary forces in France during World War I.
Wallie first married on March 3, 1917 at Grand Island, Nebraska to Susie Swayze, daughter of Daniel Swayze and Rebecca Space. They were divorced on October 24, 1919.
Wallie and Susie had one child.
- Raymond Gleason Bloom was born on October 28, 1917 at Kimball, Nebraska. He, like Wallie, adopted his step-father's surname of Bloom. He died in August of 1982 in North Platte, Nebraska.
Wallie married for the second time on July 19, 1924 at Smith Center, Kansas to Vera Mildred Hilty, daughter of Edward Otis Hilty and Alice Dora Osborne. Wallie's obituary indicated that he and Vera were married on July 18, 1925. Vera was born on December 12, 1908 at Shelton, Nebraska. She died on December 20, 1982 at Lexington, Nebraska.
Wallie and Vera had twelve children.
- Edward Otis Gleason was born on October 31, 1925 at Grand Island, Nebraska. He died on August 3, 1977 at Nebraska City, Nebraska. Edward was an operating engineer by profession. On October 11, 1944, he married at Smith Center, Kansas to Vera Darlene Hawley, daughter of Clifford Colman Hawley and Vera Amanda Dolan. Vera was born on April 4, 1928 at Fullerton, Nebraska.
- Betty Deloria Gleason was born on July 5, 1928 at Kearney, Nebraska. She died on November 24, 2004 in Kearney, Nebraska. Betty married on February 7, 1948 at Grand Island, Nebraska to Raymond Lawrence Markus, son of William Markus and Mary Elizabeth Erpedling. He was born on September 25, 1921. Raymond was a farmer/plumber by profession.
- George Homer Gleason was born on January 23, 1931 at Cozad, Nebraska. He married on December 6, 1953 at Independence, Missouri to Norma Bell Mitchel, daughter of McKinley B. Mitchell and Erma P. Wright. Normas was born on December 20, 1935 Golden City, Missouri.
- Jack Vinson Gleason was born on January 1, 1934 at Darr, Nebraska. He married on January 16, 1954 at Elwood, Nebraska to Mina, daughter of Heinrich Harwardt and Olga Seel. Mina was born on November 12, 1937 at Neudorf, Urkraine, Russia.
- Donald LaThary Gleason was born on June 2, 1936 at Lexington, Nebraska. He died on May 7, 2004 at Bonne Terre, Missouri. He was an operating engineer by profession. He married on June 30, 1961 at Pappillion, Nebraska to Diana Lee Bourbon, daughter of Jesse Lee Bourbon and Juanita Mae Willets. Diane was born on June 7, 1945 at Lexington, Nebraska.
- Bobby Gleason was born in Cozad, Nebraska.
- Ronald Dean Gleason was born on June 12, 1937 at Lexington, Nebraska. He was married on February 28, 1964 at Hastings, Nebraska to Yvonne Kahlor, daughter William L. Kahlor and Orpha Nadine Gilbert. Yvonne was born on October 30, 1933 at Achilles, Kansas.
- Janet Darlene Gleason was born on January 12, 1939 at Lexington, Nebraska.
- Larry Lee Gleason was born on November 14, 1941 at Lexington, Nebraska. He first married on March 23, 1963 at Hastings, Nebraska to Peggy Reynolds. Peggy was born on June 24, 1933 at McCook, Nebraska. Larry married a second time on November 27, 1982 at Ralston, Nebraska to Mary Ethel Schawo, daughter of Leland William Schawo and Betty Jean Brown. Mary was born on January 21, 1947 at Liberal, Kansas.
- Patty Gleason for whom there is presently no information.
- James Wallie Gleason was born on February 27, 1946 at Kearney, Nebraska. He married on December 20, 1969 at Cozad, Nebraska to Elizabeth Potter, daughter of Daniel Potter and Helen McCance. Elizabeth was born on March 16, 1949 at Cozad, Nebraska.
- Shirley Ann Gleason was born on March 10, 1949 at Lexington, Nebraska. She married on July 19, 1975 at Omaha, Nebraska to Dale William Hansen, son of Dale William Hansen and Helen Marie Nassrahah. Dale was born on May 16, 1948 at Omaha, Nebraska.
- Claude H. Reeves was born in April of 1894 probably at Audubon, Iowa. He died when he was young. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery at Audubon, Iowa. His tombstone reported that he was born in September of 1892 and died in May of 1898. However, his time of birth is taken from the 1900 US census return. In his parent's divorce papers he is referred to as Floy [sic].
Grace married a second time on October 30, 1895 at Audubon, Iowa to Harvey Brooks Gleason, son of Nathaniel G Gleason and Marietta Brooks. Harvey was born on April 5, 1856 at Brockville, Ontario, Canada. He died on September 23, 1924 at Omaha, Nebraska. Harvey filed a petition for divorce on February 29, 1904. For reasons presently unknown, he did not follow through with his petition and it was dismissed on 6 October 1905. Grace then filed for a divorce from Harvey on December 15, 1905. She was granted a divorce on March 20, 1906.
Grace and Harvey had four children.
- George Curtis Gleason was born on September 10, 1896 at Audubon, Iowa. He died on January 29, 1962 at Audubon, Iowa.
- Celia Gleason was born on August 9, 1898 in Oklahoma. She died on July 15, 1936 at Omaha, Nebraska.
- Jenny H. Gleason was born in April of 1900 at Audubon, Iowa. She is reported to have died in 1902.
- Edna Mae Gleason was born on September 14, 1902 at Audubon, Iowa. She died on April 14, 1981 at Kearney, Nebraska.
Grace married for a third time on September 22, 1906 at Grand Island, Hall, Nebraska to Otis Andrew Budd, son of Joseph Andrew Budd and Susie P. Erway. Otis was born on September 22, 1878 at Princeton, Missouri. He died on October 18, 1942 at Cozad, Dawson, Nebraska.
Grace and Otis had six children.
- Joseph Samuel Budd was born on July 27, 1907 at Shelton, Nebraska. He died on July 27, 1969 at Cozad, Nebraska.
- Alfred Otis Budd was born on May 31, 1909 at Shelton, Nebraska. He died on February 19, 1979 at Cozad, Nebraska.
- LeRoy Martin Budd was born on August 27, 1910 at Shelton, Nebraska. He died on October 19, 1927 at Cozad, Nebraska having been hit by a drunken driver.
- Donald Lee Budd was born on April 6, 1911 at Shelton, Nebraska. He died on March 14, 1974 at Tacoma, Washington.
- Ada Berdelle Budd was born on July 18, 1914 at Shelton, Nebraska. She died on February 1, 1982 at Lincoln, Nebraska.
- Rose Margaret Budd was born on July 17, 1916 at Shelton, Nebraska.
