Alma Louise Gruss, daughter of Leonard, was born on August 19, 1945 at Benton Harbor, Michigan. She died on July 25, 1971 at Benton Harbor, Michigan. She is buried in North Shore Memory Gardens at Hagar Shore, Michigan. Alma worked for Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and Whirlpool Corp.

Alma married on October 19, 1963 at St. John Catholic Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Charles Allen Rothrock, son of Virgil Rothrock and Ada Althiede. The witnesses to their marriage were Donna Hicks and Edward Hicks, Alma's cousins. Charles was born on March 12, 1942 in Hartford, Michigan. He died on June 25, 2002 in Lucedale, Mississippi.

Alma and Charles had three children.

1. Leonard Allen Rothrock was born at Benton Harbor, Michigan. He earned an associate's degree from Lake Michigan College and graduated from the Kalamazoo Valley Policy Academy. He is a police officer by profession and is employed by the St. Joseph, Michigan City Police Department.

   Leonard married on December 11, 1993 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph,Michigan to Susan Marie Kerschbaum, daughter of Art Kerschbaum and Sally Stiemle. Susan was born at St. Joseph, Michigan. She is a paralegal by profession, being employed by Fisher Law Office in St. Joseph, Michigan. She earned an associate's degree from Lake Michigan College and graduated from Davenport College in Michigan.

   Leonard and Susan have three daughters.

   1. Alexis Maria Rothrock was born at Berrien Springs, Michigan.
   2. Gabriel Anna Rothrock was born at Niles, Michigan.
   3. Isabella Alma Rothrock was born in Niles, Michigan.

After Alma's death, Charles married a second time on April 6, 1974 to Barbara Jean Kelly, nee Turney, daughter of Claire Turney and Henrietta Carney. Barbara was born on July 23, 1948 at Benton Harbor, Michigan. She died on May 22, 2002 at St. Joseph, Michigan. Charles and Barbara have a daughter.

   Jacqueline has one child.
