Catherine Gruss and Joseph Ley's Family

Catherine Gruss, daughter of Dominique, was born on December 1, 1814 at Guémar, France. She died on August 3, 1854 at Guémar, France.

Catherine married at Guémar, France on October 16, 1844 to François Joseph Ley, son of Matherne Ley and Anne Marie Buckel. François Joseph was thirty-one and Catherine was thirty at the time of their marriage.

François Joseph was born on November 10, 1813 at Guémar, France. He died on May 19, 1873 at Guémar, France François Joseph was a shoemaker (cordonnier)by profession.

Catherine and Joseph had two children, both of whom were born at Guémar, France.

1. Catherine Ley was born on October 9, 1845.
2. Victor Ley was born on September 9, 1847.

After Catherine's death, François Joseph married a second time at Guémar, France on January 10, 1855 to Marie Madeleine Schirm, daughter of Caspard Schirm and Ursula Haberbush. Marie Madeleine was born at Guémar, France on April 6, 1829 and died there on December 20, 1893.
