André Gruss, son of André, was baptized on July 12, 1691 in the Catholic Church at Rouffach, France. It is not known when or where he died. André was a tile-maker by profession.
André married on April 4, 1718 at Fessenheim, France to Anne Lier, daughter of Jacob Lier and Catherine Deck. Nothing is presently known about Anne. Anne is reported to have come from the Town of Nambsheim, France. Pierre Marck reports that Anne was born on April 25, 1686 at Nambsheim, France. In addition, Mr. Marck reports that Anne's parents were Jacques Lier and Christine Furstoss. However, the Church marriage records cite Catherine Deck as Anne's mother.
André and Anne had six children.
- André Gruss was born on July 14, 1718 at Fessenheim, France. He died on January 12, 1786 at Ensisheim, France.
- Veronique Gruss was baptized in the Catholic Church at Fessenheim, France on March 21, 1720.
- François Joseph Gruss was baptized in the Catholic Church at Blodelsheim, France on April 3, 1723. He died on September 13, 1781 at Blodelsheim, France.
- Anne Catherine Gruss was baptized in the Catholic Church at Blodelsheim,
France on October 22, 1724.
- Sebastien Gruss was baptized in the Catholic Church at Blodelsheim,
France on January 20, 1727.
- Marie Anne Gruss was baptized in the Catholic Church at Blodelsheim,
France on March 7, 1730.
