Jean Jacques Gruss' Families

Jean Jacques Gruss, son of André, was baptized on February 12, 1701 in the Catholic Church at Fessenheim, France. He died at Fessenheim, France on July 8, 1745. Pierre Marck reported that Jean Jacques died on July 8, 1743 at Fessensheim.

Jean Jacques first married on May 19, 1719 at Fessenheim, France to Magdelena Tissert, daughter of Michel Tissert and Martha Jesher. Magdelena's family name may have been spelt "Fisser". A reading of the entry is not clear as to the spelling of the family name.

Jean Jacques married a second time on May 4, 1726 at Fessenheim, France to Catherine Lier, daughter of Mathias Lier and Catherine Eich. Catherine was born on November 23, 1704 at Nambsheim, France. She died on May 14, 1743 at Fessenheim.

Jean and Catherine had at least three children.

1. Barbe Gruss was born on April 25, 1733 at Fessenheim, France. She died on February 27, 1806 at Biesheim, France.

   Barbe married in a religious ceremony on February 9, 1751 at Biesheim, France to Jean Martin Kehrmann. Jean was born on August 11, 1725 at Biesheim, France and died there on June 7, 1790. He was a butcher (lanius) by trade.

2. Jacques Gruss was born on August 29, 1735 at Fessenheim, France.

   Jacques married on February 3, 1761 at Biesheim, France to Anne Marie Gilg, daughter of Jean George Gilg and Marie Elisabeth Peter . Anne was born on July 2, 1738 at Beisheim, France.

3. Marie Anne Gruss was baptized on March 22, 1742 at Fessenheim, France.

   Marie Anne married on July 3, 1763 at Rustenhart, France to Jean Bollecker, son of Reynald Bollecker and Catherine Engasser . Jean was born on March 25, 1739 at Rustenhart, France.

   Marie and Jean had at least one child.

   1. Jean Bollecker was born on October 21, 1764 at Rustenhart, France. He died on April 30, 1852 at Bootzheim, France.

      Jean married at Bootzheim, France on April 15, 1793 to Marie Rose Muller, who was born on December 27, 1769 and died on December 7, 1733 at Bootzheim
